Dal Lake

Nishant Bagh
Impressive garden is imperial Mughal Garden and was established by brother of Nur Jahan named Asaf Khan. When it was completed Shah Jahan was very happy and he appreciated three times Asaf Khan for his work. Mughal emperor thought that he might gave this bagh as gift to him but opposite happened as result Shah Jahan stopped water supply to garden that lost all its beauty. One day Asaf Khan Servant told him that water is coming in a small stream from somewhere. This terrified Asaf Khan that he might get punishment from king but opposite happened to all matter. Panoramic terraced garden is situated on right side of Dal Lake and is also named as “Garden of Gladness”.
Hazratbal Shrine
Holy Muslim Shrine is dedicated to Nur-ud-Din Eshai who died in imprisonment given by Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. King thought that relic of Bijapur was possessed by him but in real was purchased by its owner. Sultan decided to construct a shrine for him. Positioned on left side of Dal Lake is angelic place where people used to come.
